MARDİN – In the house raids occurred in the night hours in Mardin’s Artuklu district, 4 people were taken into custody including Abdülkadir Çalhan and his son.
4 people were taken into custody through house raids in Artuklu district of Mardin city in the late hours of the night. Abdülkadir Çalhan, who was taken to the anti-terror branch of Mardin Police Department, has 3 children in prison. He was taken into custody together with his son Abdullah Çalhan. It was learned that, while the police were taking the father and son into custody, Çalhan family's house was dispersed and father Çalhan blown down on the ground. It was stated that the police officers who came to the house used words against Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Youth Council members, such s "These are terrorists. Why are you opening your door for them?" It is reported that as the family members opposed to such speech of the police, they were exposed to verbal assaults.
In addition to that information, it is learned that a member of HDP Youth Council, Özgür Bulut, who was a guest at the Çalhan family's home, was also taken into custody, while the name of the other person taken into custody has not been learned yet.
On the other hand, Mihriban Şorli, who was taken into custody in Mardin 11 days ago, was released on bail.
