MÛŞ - Muş University's announcement for the recruitment of teaching and research assistants drew attention with the requirement of “graduating from the Department of Turkish Language and Literature” for applications to the Kurdish Language and Literature Department.
Muş Alparslan University (MAUN) published an advertisement for the recruitment of teaching and research assistants on October 11, 2024. Many conditions were set for the research assistant to be recruited for the Kurdish Language and Literature Department within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. In the relevant advertisement, it was requested that the person to be recruited to the Department of Kurdish Language and Literature “must have a master's degree with thesis in the Department of Turkish Language and Literature and be doing a doctorate”.
'THE SITUATION SHOULD BE REVIEWED'
The applicants stated that due to these conditions, those who have no knowledge of Kurdish can also apply for the advertisement, and that this situation disregards the years of work of Kurdish Language and Literature students. The applicants demanded that this situation, which violates the principle of equality, be corrected and asked the authorities to review the situation in order to ensure justice.
