The ecocide in the centre and districts of Şirnex (Şırnak) is deepening day by day. In Cûdî and Gabar Mountains and Besta Region, trees have been cut down continuously for 5 years. The massacre, which was carried out under the supervision of the military and by village guards, is justified on the grounds of "security". 

 

Oil explorations initiated by the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) continue in Gabar Mountain. Thousands of trees were cut down for oil exploration. A large number of military towers were built where the slaughter was carried out. 

 

The destruction on Gabar Mountain was filmed from the air for the first time. The images revealed the magnitude of the destruction. It is reflected in the images that many roads have been built for oil wells, the roads have been made barren and most of the forested areas have been destroyed.
