URFA - Reminding that 4 people who murdered their families were arrested, Ferit Şenyaşar said, "A legal step has been taken, but our demand for justice has still not been met. My mother wants to celebrate Mother's Day with her son, who is unlawfully held in prison.”

 

The Justice Watch carried out by the Şenyaşar family has reached day 423. The sit-in was launched on  March 9, 2021 by Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons as a result of the attack carried out by AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives in the Suruç province of Urfa, on June 14, 2018. Emine and Ferit Şenyaşar came to the Urfa Courthouse, 42 kilometers away from their homes in the Suruç district of Urfa early in the morning and started the sit-in. Between working hours, the mother and her son convey information about their struggle for justice to lawyers and citizens who go to the courthouse.

 

 

'JUSTICE WILL BE FULFILLED ONE DAY'

 

Ferit Şenyaşar, who has been on Justice Watch for 423 days with his mother, Emine Şenyaşar, reminded that the struggle for justice has been going on for about 4 years and said, "Months and seasons have passed, Ramadan is over, but the justice we demand never does arrive. Since justice is not done, we are sitting in front of the courthouse with my mother. After 4 years, a legal step was taken, 4 people were arrested, including Celal Yıldız, the brother of AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız. This is just a legal step. We appealed to the judicial authorities. A legal step has been taken, but our demand for justice has still not been met. One of my brothers (Fadıl Şenyaşar) has been unlawfully held in a cell alone for 4 years. My mother's demand is that her son be released as soon as possible. The mother will not leave the courthouse before her son is released. Millions support my mother's struggle in front of the courthouse. The justice my mother demanded will definitely be achieved one day. We want this to happen as soon as possible. We want this persecution to end."

 

'ŞENYASAR FAMILY IS IN RESISTANCE'

 

The family has tagged the Twitter accounts of Minister of Justice Bekir Bozdag, AKP President Tayyip Erdogan and Urfa Governor Abdullah Erin with the hashtag “#ŞenYaşarAilesiDirenişte” and  shared the following message: "They killed her husband and her 2 sons in the hospital, the son they could not kill is still in prison. Mother Emine wants to celebrate Mother's Day with her son who is unlawfully held in prison. She has been demanding justice from the walls of the courthouse for 423 days”.
