Turkey burns cultivated fields in Shehba

NEWS CENTER - Turkey burned 20 hectares of agricultural land in the bombardments of Shehba canton.
 
Turkey and its paramilitary forces have been heavily attacking the Shehba canton with tanks and artillery in recent days. Agricultural lands, which are the main source of income for the people of the region, are greatly damaged by the bombardment.
 
According to the data of the Shehba Canton Fire Fighting Committee, 20.6 hectares of land planted with barley in Hesacik village of Fafin district was destroyed in the fires caused by the bombardment. In addition, one hectare of land planted with wheat and crops belonging to seven families were also destroyed.
 
Speaking to the Hawar News Agency (ANHA), a farmer named Mehmud Mislim stated that the residents of the canton make a living from agriculture, and that agriculture was damaged greatly due to the adverse weather conditions.
 
Stating that the embargo is imposed by the Damascus government on Shehba also caused great harm to the farmers, Mehmud Mislim said, "Due to the constant attacks by the Turkish state and its mercenaries, our crops have turned to ash."
 
Condemning the crimes committed by Turkey, Mislim emphasized that the starvation policy against the Shehba canton was put into effect.
