DİYARBAKIR - While the Kurdish journalists are behind bars for the last week, Piya and Ari Production companies are still under police blockade for the last 15 days. The lawyers of the journalists are still not informed about the search that continues since June 8.
On 8 June, when 22 people, 20 of whom are journalists, were detained in Diyarbakır, a raid was carried out on the agencies and production companies where journalists work. A large number of cameras, computers and digital material were confiscated during the raids. While the search ended at Pel Film Production, the search started on June 8 at Piya and Ari Prodcution companies continues on day 15.
The 4- storey building of two production companies and its surroundings are under police blockade since June 8. The attorneys, who met with the prosecutor, stated that they were not informed about why the police have been searching the building for 15 days or when its going to end.
JOURNALISTS ARE BEHIND BARS FOR A WEEK NOW
It has been 7 days since 16 journalists were arrested for their professional activities. The imprisoned journalists are being held in Diyarbakır Type D Prison.

JINNEWS Manager Safiye Alagaş, DFG Co-chair Serdar Altan, MA Editor Aziz Oruç, Xwebûn Editor-in-Chief Mehmet Ali Ertaş, Zeynel Abidin Bulut, Ömer Çelik, Mazlum Doğan Güler, İbrahim Koyuncu, Neşe Toprak, Elif Üngür, Abdurrahman Öncü, Suat Doğuhan, Remziye Temel , Ramazan Geciken, Lezgin Akdeniz and Mehmet Şahin were arrested with the accusation of 'being a member of a terrorist organisation'.
Journalists Gülşen Koçuk, Esmer Tunç, Mehmet Yalçın, Kadir Bayram and citizens Feynaz Koçuk and İhsan Ergülen were released with judicial control measures.
