Zülküf Kaya, held in Patnos Type L Prison, was tortured by 20 guards for 2 hours while he was being taken to the infirmary, and his attorney filed a criminal complaint. Attorney Sertaç Çelikkaleli, who applied to the Patnos Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, said that his client was taken back to his ward without being treated after being tortured by the guards.
'2 HOURS OF TORTURE'
Reminding that Kaya is detoriorating and fainted on June 21, Çelikkaleli said: “Then the client was referred to the infirmary, but the guards tried to prevent the client from being treated by the doctor. The guards said that the prisoner was acting ill. The client was tortured for 2 hours by 20 guards in front of the doctor.
The client was battered by the guards, insulted and prevented from being treated. The guards were not satisfied with this and sent the client back to his ward without treatment so that the torture they had done would not be seen. All of his friends whom he shared the same ward witnessed that the client was tortured, and they tried to treat the client's wounds.”
CRIMINAL COMPLAINT
Reminding Kaya's phone conversation with his family, Attorney Çelikkaleli said: “Everyone should know that there is torture and tyranny in Patnos Prison. We have filed a criminal complaint against the public official who committed the acts that are incompatible with human dignity and that caused physical and spiritual suffering, that affected my client's perception and will power, and humiliated him. We demand that the suspects be investigated and punished. We have filed a criminal complaint so that the necessary investigation and prosecution will be carried out by the Prosecutor's Office against the suspects who committed the crimes against our client."
