DİYARBAKIR - The letters of imprisoned journalists Serdar Altan, Mehmet Ali Ertaş and Zeynel Abidin Bulut were confiscated because they "could have been organisational documents".

Among the 16 Kurdish journalists arrested in Diyarbakır on June 16, the letters of Dicle Fırat Journalists' Association (DFG) Co-chair Serdar Altan, Xwebûn's Editor-in-Chief Mehmet Ali Ertaş and one of the newspaper's editors, Zeynel Abidin Bulut's letter were confiscated. The Diyarbakir Type D Closed Prison Disciplinary Committee found the letters sent to journalist Hüseyin Aykol "objectionable". The reason for the confiscation of the letters was given that they "could have been organisational propaganda and organisational communication".
