VAN - Stating that he was battered and injected with an unknown medicine by force, Emrah Yakut, who is being held in Erzurum Dumlu Prison No. 1, said: "The guards will kill me."
Emrah Yakut from Erzurum Dumlu High Security Prison No. 1, told he was beaten by a group of guards and they injected him with some medicine even though he is not sick, which caused him to lose consciousness. Yakut said he suffered from temporary memory loss after that. Yakut, who had a contact visit with his family on July 13, also expressed that he was concerned for his life.
DEATH THREAT
Yakut's mother, Sebiha Yakut, who lives in Van, said that her son told her that the guards would kill him. Expressing that they were kept waiting in front of the prison for a while, Yakut said: "We could only see him after a long discussion. There were about 50 guards waiting in the corridor, they dragged my son inside the visiting room. We asked what happened to my son. My son said that the guards would kill him."
EMRAH SUFFERED FROM MEMORY LOSS AFTER THE INJECTION
Stating that his son was badly battered and there were bruises on his face and blood stains under his ears, Yakut said: “I asked for a glass of water from the guards. They gave him a sip of water. My son did not drink the water because he didn't have the strength to raise his arm and drink the water. I helped my son drink the water. My son also said that the guards gave him an injection and he suffered from memory loss after the injection. My son has not been given food for several days. When I asked the guards why they didn't give my son food, they claimed that their food is not good, so my son doesn't eat their food."
Emphasizing that they do not accept the persecution in prisons, Yakut said: “I call out to all mothers. Everyone should raise their voice against violations of rights in prisons. We don't want our children coming out in coffins. They are all our children, we want our rights. Maybe they killed my son in prison right now, we don't know."
