Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein answered the questions of journalists about Turkey's bombing of the picnic area in the village of Perex in Zaxo. Hussein announced that it was determined that the attack was carried out by Turkey regarding the incident in which 9 Arab tourists lost their lives and 22 people were injured.
Hussein called on Turkey to apologize to the Iraqi people, warning Turkey to "stop the attacks". Expressing that Turkey should pay compensation to the victims of the attack, Hussein stated that they will take the incident to the United Nations Security Council. Hussein said, “These attacks must come to an end. Is this protecting the lands of Turkey or is it an attack on the Iraqi people? Is this the fight against the PKK or is Turkey killing civilians?”
Hussein said: “It is our legal right to defend ourselves. The relations between Iraq and Turkey are historical relations, problems should be resolved through dialogue. We have political problems, but there is a common attitude of the Iraqi sides in the face of the attack."
