NEWS CENTER - The Iraqi National Security Council, which convened after Turkey's massacre in Zakho, called on Turkey to apologize and demanded that its military forces withdraw from Iraq.
The Iraqi National Security Council (MGK) convened urgently regarding the massacre carried out by Turkey in the village of Perex in Zakho yesterday, in which 9 Arab tourists lost their lives. After the meeting, new decisions were taken against Turkey.
In the written statement regarding the content of the meeting, the attack was condemned. The decisions taken at the meeting are as follows:
“* The Security Council has instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to prepare a file on Turkey's attacks on Iraq's sovereignty and security. It was also requested that the files be urgently sent to the United Nations Security Council.
* The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs will call Turkey's ambassador to Iraq to provide information about the sanctions.
* It was decided that the ambassador of Iraq in Turkey should be summoned to evaluate the situation and that a new ambassador should not be sent.
* The commander for joint operations was assigned to present a report on the situation ın the Iraq Turkey border.
* Necessary research was requested on the situation of those who were attacked and the families of the martyrs and compensation to be paid to the victims.
* Coordination with the regional government and taking decisive measures were requested to prevent violations.
* Turkey was demanded to make an official apology and withdraw its military forces from Iraqi territory.
* The Security Council reiterates that Iraqi territory should not be an area of attack and reckoning by any country, and it also Iraq strongly denies the existence of any armed group on Iraqi soil.
