URFA - The sit-in, which Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar started in front of the Urfa Courthouse, is on its 500th day.
The Justice Watch carried out by the Şenyaşar family has reached day 500. The sit-in was launched on March 9, 2021 by Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons as a result of the attack carried out by AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives in the Suruç province of Urfa, on June 14, 2018. The mother and her son came to the Urfa Courthouse from their house in Suruç district early in the morning and started their sit-in on the courthouse steps.
Stating that their struggle was heard by the whole world, Ferit Şenyaşar said: "With this struggle, everyone learned all the facts and truths. The statements of the Governor of Urfa about our case are still available on the governor's website. The Minister of Agriculture of the period has a statement about our case. Many MPs in the AKP meet with us and say that we are right in our case. Despite all the facts being revealed, justice is still not served. That's why our fight for justice continues."
ŞENYAŞAR CALLED FOR PARTICIPATION TO THE STATEMENT IN FRONT OF COURTHOUSE
Drawing attention to the advancing age of his mother, Emine Şenyaşar, Ferit Şenyaşar said: "Emine Şenyaşar has reached the point of exhaustion in front of the courthouse. This is the shame of all officials and the state in Turkey. Justice should be provided as soon as possible. Fadıl Şenyaşar should be released." Şenyaşar reminded the statement that the Urfa branches of the Human Rights Association (İHD) and the Association for Lawyers for Freedom (ÖHD) will make in front of the courthouse at 17.00 and called for public participation.
THE STRUGGLE FOR RIGHTS IS ON DAY 500
The family shared the following message from their Twitter account: "We have been fighting for rights for 500 days by standing in the right place. Our sit-in will continue until justice comes within the limits of the law."
