URFA - Continuing their struggle for justice with his mother, Ferit Şenyaşar called on the AKP MP Ahmet Eşref Fakıbaba who is holding talks in the city to come meet them in front of the courthouse.

The Justice Watch carried out by the Şenyaşar family has reached day 504. The sit-in was launched on  March 9, 2021 by Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons as a result of the attack carried out by AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives in the Suruç province of Urfa, on June 14, 2018. The mother and her son came to the Urfa Courthouse from their house in Suruç district early in the morning and started their sit-in on the courthouse steps.

'THE PEOPLE OF URFA IS OUR WITNESSES'

Stating that it is hard to continue the sit-in with the very hot weather in Urfa, Şenyaşar said: "Prosecutor's are on summer vacation. There is no justice for us. The state officials says they do not have any evidence. We will not lose faith in justice. We will not leave until we have justice. The people of Urfa is the witnesses of this injustice."

CALL TO FAKIBABA

Şenyaşar stated that AKP Deputy Ahmet Eşref Fakıbaba, who was the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock at the time was in the garden of the hospital when the massacre took place, would hold meetings in Urfa for a week and said, “The Minister came to Urfa to 'listen to the problems of the people'. The biggest problem of Urfa is this mother demanding justice in front of the courthouse. He should come visit my mother. Maybe prosecutors can chose to take action after this visit."

'WE WILL HAVE JUSTICE'

The family shared the following note from Twitter: "We have been demanding justice for the last 4 years. Maybe it won't bring our murdered family members back but we will have justice."
