URFA - Becoming a symbol for those who want justice, on the 521st day of her protest, Emine Şenyaşar called: "Do not leave us alone. Everyone should stand with us against the persecution done to us.”
The Justice Watch carried out by the Şenyaşar family has reached day 521. The sit-in was launched on March 9, 2021 by Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons as a result of the attack carried out by AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives in the Suruç province of Urfa, on June 14, 2018. Emine Şenyaşar and her son arrived in front of the Urfa Courthouse from their house in Suruç district early in the morning. Emine Şenyaşar and son, who were prevented from sitting in the shade at the entrance of the courthouse by the police on the 4th day, started the sit-in in the area called "Şenyaşar family justice corner".
The Şenyaşar family hung a banner with the words "Justice for All", which includes photographs of their relatives who lost their lives in the massacre, and a banner writting "We have been waiting for justice for 521 days for an honorable life". The family conveyed to the citizens and attorneys who went to the courthouse about the massacre they were subjected to and their struggle for justice.
‘HOW IS THAT JUSTICE?’
Underlining that they continue to struggle with support visits, Şenyaşar continued: “Do not leave us alone. Everyone should stand with us against the oppression inflicted on us. I'm not leaving here until justice will serve. We come from Suruç every morning, far away. Justice should serve soon. All those who shot my children should be arrested. What kind of state is this, what kind of justice is this?”
