SIRNAK - After the Şırnak Bar Association's call to stop the deforestation in the city, 180 people filled out the draft petitions and applied to the governor's office and district governors.
In the Besta Region of Şırnak and in the Cudi and Gabar mountains, forests have been cut by the rangers for more than two years under the supervision of soldiers. In two years, tens of thousands of tons of trees were cut down and taken to cities such as Urfa, Antep and Maraş to be sold. Both civil society and professional organisations in the city and citizens made many calls for the slaughter to be stopped.
Finally, Şırnak Bar Association shared a text with the title “Call to our citizens” and demanded that citizens apply to Şırnak Governorate and district governorships to stop the slaughter. After this call, more than 180 citizens from Şırnak, Cizre and Silopi petitioned the Governor's Office and district governorship to stop the deforestation.
Although two days have passed since the call made by the Bar Association, 150 citizens in the center of Şırnak, more than 20 people in Silopi and more than 10 people in Cizre submitted the relevant petition to the district governor's office and the Governor's Office.
APPLICATION WAS SENT TO THE GOVERNORSHIP BY POST
A citizen named Muhammed Darga wanted to deliver the petition he signed and prepared to the District Governor of Cizre. However, the district governorship officials stated that they would not accept the application and directed Darga to the Şırnak Governorate, so Darga sent the petition it prepared to the Governorship of Şırnak by post.
On the other hand, Şırnak Bar Association repeated its call to citizens to sign the draft petition and send it to the Governor's Office and District Governor's Office.
