URFA - Stating that Turkey's attacks against the Kurds are a declaration of war, Deputy Co-Chair of the Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration Emine Osê said that they will use their right of self-defense against attacks.
The attacks of Turkey and the paramilitary forces it supports against Northern and Eastern Syria continue. Due to the increasing attacks recently, many people, including their children, lost their lives and were injured. Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration Deputy Co-Chair Emine Osê made assessments about the attacks to the Hawar News Agency (ANHA). Condemning the silence of the international forces in the region against the attacks, Emine Osê said: “As the Autonomous Administration, we see these attacks as a declaration of war, and the international community should take these attacks seriously and have a position to stop them. All countries that played a role in the Syrian crisis are responsible for the increase in these attacks.”
'TURKISH STATE DOESN'T GET APPROVAL FROM LOCAL FORCES'
Saying that the attack is aimed at the security of Northern and Eastern Syria and the sovereignty of Syria, Emine Osê said: “The invading Turkish state also bombed the bases of the Syrian regime forces. The government of Damascus must act seriously against these attacks. We also call on all residents of Northern and Eastern Syria not to leave their lands. The Turkish government sought approval by negotiating with local forces to achieve its goal of occupying Northern and Eastern Syria. But that didn't work, so it used a more dangerous method of invasion than bombing the area with drones. The Turkish state commits war crimes against the people every day. The Turkish government wants to defeat the Autonomous Administration project and has not given up on its expansion plans in the region.”
'OUR FORCES WILL USE THE RIGHT OF SELF DEFENSE'
Calling on the peoples living in Northern and Eastern Syria to go to the shelters prepared by the Autonomous Administration during the bombardment and stay in their regions, Emine Osê said: "The Autonomous Administration will not remain silent in the face of these violations, we will document all the violations and crimes of the Turkish invasion against our regions and hold them accountable. Turkey forces them to respond in the context of self-defense with its attacks. We do not want this either, but if the Turkish state continues to declare war and target our regions, our forces will use their right of self-defense. Despite all previous calls, the international community and the world are not fulfilling their obligations, so we call on them once again to fulfill their duties towards Northern and Eastern Syria and to consider the consequences of these attacks.”
