BATMAN - Metin Güven, who has been imprisoned for 30 years in Yozgat Type T Closed Prison, has been postponed for the second time for 3 months on the grounds that he refused the imposition of "regret".
Violations caused by the "Regulation on Observation and Classification Centers and the Evaluation of Convicts", which allows the prisoners to postpone their execution periods of 3 months and 6 months, continues despite the expiry of their prison sentences. The release of Metin Güven, who has been imprisoned for 30 years, has been postponed for the second time. Güven, who was sentenced to life imprisonment by the State Security Court (DGM) after he was arrested in Silvan district of Diyarbakır in 1992, should have been released on April 30. While Yozgat No. 2 Type T Prison Observation Board asked "Do you regret it?" He postponed Güven's release for 3 months because he answered the question "I didn't do anything to regret".
HE WASN'T RELEASED DESPITE HE SERVED HID SENTENCE
Güven, who has been imprisoned for 30 years, 2 months and 20 days because he wasn't released despite Güven served his sentence, was sentenced to not release once again by the same board, 10 days before his release. It was claimed that the reason for his holding was not "goodwill". It has been learned that Güven, who has 10 days left to be released, will remain in prison for another 3 months with this decision. Güven, who was subjected to torture after being detained and arrested in 1992, remained in prisons in Diyarbakır, Amasya, Karabük, Çankırı and Yozgat, respectively. It was pointed out that Güven's family condemned the fact that he was not released and that the decision was arbitrary.
INHUMAN PRACTICES
Stating that regret is imposed on his son for the second time, Güven's father, Abdulvahap Güven said: "My son has pharyngitis. We never accept arbitrary treatment. My daughter Suda has been in prison for 12 years. Torture has been going on in these prisons for years. There are always deaths in prison. There was a dead body in prison two days in a row. These inhumane practices imposed on our children should come to an end immediately.”
