URFA - Being on sit-in with the Şenyaşar family, İHD Urfa Branch Co-chair Mustafa Vefa said: "With this file, the state has once again shown that it is not with the oppressed, but against it."
The Justice Watch carried out by the Şenyaşar family has reached day 532. The sit-in was launched on March 9, 2021 by Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons as a result of the attack carried out by AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives in the Suruç province of Urfa, on June 14, 2018. The family came to the Urfa Courthouse from their house in Suruç early in the morning. Emine Şenyaşar and son, who have been prevented from sitting in the shade at the entrance of the courthouse by the police since August 8, started the sit-in in the "Senyaşar family justice corner" with the Human Rights Association (İHD) Urfa Branch. The family will continue the sit-in with the members of the association throughout the day today.
IN THE SAME POINT WITH UNJUSTICE
Stating that the family continued their sit-in despite the police blocking it, Vefa said: “A family has had a request for 532 days, but no response or addressee could be found against this request. A massacre took place before the eyes of the state. The Şenyaşar family was virtually destroyed in that massacre. This massacre took place in front of the cameras, the governor and the police chief. The situation we have come to is that there has been no progress in this file for almost 4 years. With this file, the state has once again shown that it is not on the side of the oppressed, but against it.”
