MARDİN- Stating that Turkey wants to take over the Autonomous Administration with attacks on Northern and Eastern Syria, Cihan Bilgin said that Russia, the USA and the International Coalition are responsible for the attacks.
A new one is added to the attacks carried out by Turkey with paramilitary forces against the cities of Northern and Eastern Syria. In addition to the attacks, while the government made extensive threats to the cities of Northern and Eastern Syria, the government officials talked with Russian, Iranian and US officials to get approval for the attacks. The Syrian Democratic Forces(SDF) officials emphasized that they will use their right of self defence.
Journalist Cihan Bilgin evaluated the developments in the region and Turkey's attacks.
THE INTERNATIONAL RESPONSIBILITY
Stating that Turkey has been changing its method of attacks against Northern and Eastern Syria, Bilgin said: "The attacks aimed at massacre are being carried out. These attacks started with the attacks against the leading women in 2020 , against the members of Kongreya Star, Emine Veysi, Hebun Mele Xelil and Zehra Berkel. The three women were martyred in airstrikes in Kobane. Then, in 2021, the house where Abdullah Öcalan was staying in Kobane was targeted. With the attacks, Turkey's attacks on drones and armed drones in Northern and Eastern Syria began. With these attacks, the paradigm of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan was targeted. Pioneering women, who defeated ISIS, women who set an example for the world were targeted. Since then, the attacks have not stopped. Neither drone attacks nor bombardments have not stopped. In addition, assassinations are carried out.”
Stating that the reason for attacks first started in Kobane was the first place where ISIS was defeated and Democratic Autonomy first came to life here, Bilgin said: "since the Turkish state feels regretful about Kobane, it is targeting Kobane with drones. Before these attacks, ISIS was attacking. ISIS was trying to martyr the pioneers of the revolution. It wanted to commit a massacre in public. These aims and efforts were also blocked by the SDF. Now Turkey is doing this. This is not only done by the Turkish state. Russia, the United States and the International Coalition are also responsible for these attacks.
INTERNATIONAL COALITION DOESN'T ACT ENOUGH
Stating that the attacks were carried out especially after the meetings in the neighborhoods and streets, Bilgin said: “Right now, Dirbesîyê, Amude, Qamişlo and Kobanê are being targeted. Previously, these areas were bombarded, but not as many bombardments as now. There are both Damascus and Russian troops here. However, no reply has been given so far. Drones attacks have increased a lot in the last two weeks. After the Sochi and Tehran meetings, approval was given for attacks on Turkey. Jiyan Tolhildan, one of the leading commanders of the fight against ISIS, was killed in an air attack, Tolhildan was a member of the delegation that met with the International Coalition. The International Coalition has also just issued a message of condemnation. That was not enough.”
GENOCIDE PLANS
Stating that Turkey was planning to return to its pre-2011 relations with the Damascus government, Bilgin said, “The foundations of the meeting between Turkey and the Damascus government were laid. That was Russia's goal and that was Iran's goal. To bring Turkey and the Damascus Government to the same table. Iran also stands against Democratic Autonomy. It is giving voice about Turkey's attacks, but it wants Turkey and Syria to act together. Syria wants to be active in Northern and Eastern Syria. Russia also wants to achieve these goals. They want to re-implement the Adana Consensus in the region. In 1998, the Adana Agreement was signed between Syria and Turkey. When PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan also left Syria after this agreement, many people were martyred. There were those who were arrested, there were those who were handed over to Turkey. Today they want to bring it back to life. Especially they want to do this in Northern and Eastern Syria. In other words, they want to start a new process of genocide against the Autonomous Administration, against the people of the region.
'THE RESISTANCE HAS BECOME A PART OF THE LIFE OF THE PEOPLE'
Noting that in case of Turkey's possible attack on the region, very different situations will develop from the previous attacks, Bilgin said: “A lot of experience has been gained in these wars. Military commanders in the region also say this. It will not be the same as before. If the attacks start, the agreements between the US, Russia and the Damascus government with the SDF will cease. SDF forces will spread the war to every point of the border with the official decision they have taken. It was decided that in case of invasion attacks even against a village in Northern and Eastern Syria, a wide war would be started. The Turkish state also knows that it cannot handle this. For this reason, it is trying to prepare its infrastructure with drones attacks and bombardments. It wants no one to stand in the way of these attacks in the region. But it does not succeed because the resistance has become a part of the life of the people.”
"PEOPLE ARE ORGANIZING THEMSELVES"
Stating that Turkey's main fear is that the status of the region will be accepted, Bilgin said: "Just as Turkey is afraid of the status of Southern Kurdistan, it is also afraid of the status of the region. Turkey expects the people of the region to scare and displace them and oppose the Democratic Autonomy with its attacks, Thus, it wants to invade the region easily. It carries out attacks with this logic. All this is happening before the eyes of the Damascus government and Russia and the people do not accept them. People show this with their actions. The people of the region organized themselves against the attacks. How is it that ISIS was defeated in the resistance. With this belief, they are determined that they will defeat the Turkish state and its gangs. The people are making preparations. They are making their place. They build their shelters. They train themselves against a possible attack, against the invasion.”
