URFA - Continuing the sit-in with his mother Emine Şenyaşar on the 546th day and stating that they made their voices heard to the world, Ferit Şenyaşar said: "If the justice isn't achieved yet for 546 day, this is the shame of the state officials, it is the shame of everyone who says that there is justice in Turkey."
The Justice Watch carried out by the Şenyaşar family has reached day 546. The sit-in was launched on March 9, 2021 by Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons as a result of the attack carried out by AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives in the Suruç province of Urfa, on June 14, 2018. Emine Şenyaşar and her son came in front of the courthouse early in the morning and staged the sit-in.
The family started the sit-in with the banner "Justice should be done, the persecution that has been going on for 546 days must end".
'EVERYONE SEES THIS MOTHER'S SUFFERING'
Speaking at the sit-in and stating that they have been seeking justice for 546 days, Ferit Şenyaşar said: “Citizens and prosecutors who enter the courthouse every day see that there is an injustice. Why isn't justice provided? We made our voices heard to the world. This mother is over 65 years old and ill and she says that she will not leave the courthouse until her son (Fadıl Şenyaşar) is released. Everyone sees this mother's suffering. If justice hasn't been done yet for 546 day, this is the shame of all state officials and it is the shame of everyone who says that there is justice in Turkey. We want justice, we want the implementation of written laws."
The family shared the following message on their Twitter account: “Get your hands off the judiciary; Justice must be done! The persecution continues for 546 days at the Urfa courthouse gate and it should be ended”.
