DENİZLİ/İZMİR - The hunger strike launched by 3 seriously ill political prisoners in Kırıklar Prison against the violations of rights continues on its 9th day. The hunger strike in Denizli Prison is on its 36th day.
The indefinite and non-rotating hunger strike, launched by writer Zeki Bayhan, Ramazan Çelik and Yücel Kızmaz who are seriously ill prisoners held in Kırıklar No. 2 Type F High Security Prison, continues on its 9th day. The Association for Lawyers for Freedom (ÖHD) İzmir Branch Prison Commission stated that they will meet with the prisoners again this week.
THE DELEGATION MET WITH THE PROSECUTOR
A delegation consisting of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Law and Human Rights Commission, Human Rights Association (İHD), Association for Lawyers for Freedom (ÖHD) and İzmir Bar Association visited Kırıklar Prison where the hunger strike continues on September 2. The delegation, which met with the prison prosecutor, requested that the demands of the prisoners be met.

The hunger strike launched by Ekim Polat, a 24-year-old seriously ill prisoner in Denizli Type T Prison, demanding his right to treatment, is on its 36th day. On the 28th day, his mother, Songül İlker continued her sit-in in front of Denizli Type T Prison for the demand of her son to be met.
Expressing that her son was subjected to pressures and he was being tortured, İlker said: “Ekim launched a hunger strike because his right to treatment was denied. I want everyone to hear the voice of Ekim and be his voice to ensure the right to treatment."
