URFA - Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her two sons and her husband in the massacre involving the bodyguards and relatives of AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız, will stand trial for "insulting" Yıldız.
The Justice Watch carried out by the Şenyaşar family has reached day 553. The sit-in was launched on March 9, 2021 by Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons as a result of the attack carried out by AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives in the Suruç province of Urfa, on June 14, 2018. The family, who came to the Urfa courthouse from their house in Suruç early in the morning, started the sit-in at the "Şenyaşar family justice corner".
The family hung a banner "Justice for the Şenyaşar family, justice for all" on the concrete blocks in front of the courthouse. 15 different investigations were launched against Emine Şenyaşar for insult based on the words she said during the sit-in. Five of these investigations turned into lawsuits. The hearing of the case brought against Emine Şenyaşar on the grounds that she "insulted" AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız, will be held at the Urfa 4th Criminal Court of First Instance at 11:00 tomorrow.
Continuing his sit-in with his mother without interruption and stating that the struggle for justice continues under persecution, Ferit Şenyaşar said: “The sit-in continues. My mother wants her son to be released. My mother just wants justice. Her demand for justice was not met, instead, 15 investigations were opened against her. 5 of them turned into lawsuits. A hearing will be held tomorrow and while my mother is the defendant in the case, the attacker AKP MP is the victim. No one on the side of humanity can be silent against this. My mother will stand trial at 11.00 tomorrow. We invite everytone to Urfa Courthouse to witness the persecution."
