URFA - Continuing the sit-in, Ferit Şenyaşar stated that the prosecutor is investigating his family instead of opening the hospital file.
The Justice Watch carried out by the Şenyaşar family has reached day 560. The sit-in was launched on March 9, 2021 by Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons as a result of the attack carried out by AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives in the Suruç province of Urfa, on June 14, 2018. Emine Şenyaşar and her son started the sit-in early in the morning in the area called “Şenyaşar family justice corner” in front of the Urfa Courthouse. The family hung a banner reading "Justice for the Şenyaşar family, justice for all" on the concrete blocks in front of the courthouse.
'THE INJUSTICE SHOULD BE ENDED'
Speaking about the sit-in, Ferit Şenyaşar said: “There is a massacre and a crime against humanity. The file of the massacre committed four years ago still remains confidential. After the massacre, 4 prosecutors were assigned and they investigated our entire past. Our phone records were examined, burial places were examined, but they could not contact any organisation. We have been in front of the courthouse for 560 days, and the prosecutors are still trying to establish connections with our family instead of opening the hospital file. This is a futile questiestion. They should give up on it, they must open the hospital file. We are not affiliated with an organisation or a political party. Our only demand is that this injustice should be ended and that justice be done. The perpetrators are known, so justice should be served. This is Turkey's fault. This shame should be put to an end as soon as possible."
The family shared the following message from their Twitter account: “Our sit-in continues on the 560th day. Our request is not to interfere with the judiciary; We want the opposite. The prosecutors should be released.”
