URFA - Ferit Şenyaşar, who has been on sit-in for 564 days with his mother Emine Şenyaşar, said: "Although the whole world knows that Emine Şenyaşar is right, there is a political intervention on the case."
The Justice Watch carried out by the Şenyaşar family has reached day 564. The sit-in was launched on March 9, 2021 by Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons as a result of the attack carried out by AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives in the Suruç province of Urfa, on June 14, 2018. The family, who came to the Urfa courthouse from their house in Suruç early in the morning, started the sit-in at the "Şenyaşar family justice corner".
Stating that the sit-in continues under "oppression", Ferit Şenyaşar said: "My mother's demands were justified and said that the world has heard her cry, but no legal step has been taken, the persecution by the judiciary continues. We want this justice to be done as soon as possible. The mother's struggle has been the subject of documentaries, it has been published in a book, and now a scarf of Emine Şenyaşar is exhibited in the 'Political Genocide Exhibition' opened in America. Even though the whole world knows that Emine Şenyaşar was right, there is a political intervention in the case. We want this political intervention to be removed as soon as possible so that the prosecutors do what is necessary.”
