URFA - Visiting the Şenyaşar family, who continues their struggle for justice, HDP Party Spokesperson Ebru Günay said: "The chief perpetrator of the massacre is sitting in the parliament with the AKP now. Instead of detaining the family, the police should hold the attorney and the murderers accountable."
The Justice Watch carried out by the Şenyaşar family has reached day 579. The sit-in was launched on March 9, 2021 by Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons as a result of the attack carried out by AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives in the Suruç province of Urfa, on June 14, 2018. Although the courthouse was closed at the weekend, the family came in front of the courthouse and started the sit-in by sitting in front of the police barriers.
Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Party Spokesperson Ebru Günay, HDP Group Deputy Chairman Meral Danış Beştaş, HDP MPs Speaker of the Assembly Nimetullah Erdoğmuş, Urfa MPs Ayşe Driver and Nusrettin Maçin, Suruç Municipality Co-Mayor Hatice Çevik, who was replaced by a trustee, members of the Urfa Peace Mothers Council, Democratic Party Regions Party (DBP) Urfa Provincial Organisation, Association for Lawyers for Freedom (ÖHD) Urfa Branch and many party members visited.
The family greeted the delegation with the inscription "justice" in their hands. Ferit Şenyaşar hung the A4 papers written "justice" on the iron barriers set up by the police for the blockade. The delegation held a Justice Watch with the family for a while.
'THE PERSON OF THE MASSACRE IS IN THE PARLIAMENT'
Speaking at the visit, HDP Party Spokesperson Ebru Günay condemned the police blockade of the guard area with a barrier and said: "Justice has been blockaded by the police. The family has been on guard for about 600 days. Everything is in the file, but it is hidden. AKP is dealing with the mafia. The state wants to black it out. The chief perpetrator of the massacre now sits in the parliament in the ranks of the AKP. Justice is rotten. Instead of detaining the family, the police should hold the attorney and the murderers accountable. The AKP wants to cover it up because it has become a gang. We will continue to support the family. We will fight until justice is served."
