DERSİM - Stating that the establishment of the Alevi Bektashi Culture and Djemevi Presidency was a project to destroy Alevism, DAD Co-Chairperson Musa Kulu said: "The state is taking away the Alevis's belief, society and culture."

AKP President Tayyip Erdoğan announced that the Alevi Bektashi Culture and Djemevi Presidency will be established under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, at the "Foundation of Djemevis and Collective Opening Ceremony" at the Şahkulu Sultan Dervish Lodge, which he attended on October 7. Erdogan said that if the faith leaders are requested, they will be given a staff within the structure. Erdoğan made these statements once again after the Council of Ministers meeting, which lasted for 3 and a half hours yesterday. Evaluating Erdoğan's statement, to which many Alevi institutions reacted that It is a destroying of Alevism, Democratic Alevi Associations (DAD) Co-Chair Musa Kulu said: "Their aim is that if state allows Alevis to be existed, the Alevis can be existed."

PROJECT TO DESTROY ALEVISM

Noting that the state or the system cannot have anything to say about the Alevis, Kulu said: "These words are a project to destroy the faith, language, culture and historical memory of the Alevis. The state is taking away the Alevis' belief, society and culture. The expectation from a state founded on the Turkish-Islamic synthesis will not bring any benefit to the society. These systems first act with slaughter and then with assimilation. If there is going to be a change in Turkey, only democracy, peace and social unity can happen on the plane where all ethnic identities and beliefs living in Turkey are constitutionally guaranteed.
This state will divide the society and break it into pieces and turn it into a band that is allegiance to itself."
