URFA - Continuing their struggle for justice and condemning the censorship law passed in the Parliament, the Şenyaşar family said: "We are right. No obstacle can stand against the truth.”
The Justice Watch carried out by the Şenyaşar family has reached day 585. The sit-in was launched on March 9, 2021 by Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons as a result of the attack carried out by AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives in the Suruç province of Urfa, on June 14, 2018. The family came to the courthouse early in the morning and started their sit-in in front of the "Senyaşar family justice corner". Hanging a banner with the inscription "Justice for the Şenyaşar family" on the concrete blocks in front of the courthouse, the family informs the lawyers and citizens who came to the courthouse and visited them about the massacre they were subjected to and the ongoing struggle for justice.
The sit-in, which was wanted to be prevented in recent days by the order of the Urfa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, was blockaded with iron barriers last week and was lifted after the family's resistance. Although the sit-in area was turned into a car parking place by the Urfa Metropolitan Municipality 2 days ago instead of the barriers, the family's sit-in continues.
ŞENYAŞAR FAMILY CONDEMNED THE CENSORSHIP LAW
Condemning the censorship law passed by the Parliament yesterday from their social media account, the family shared the following message: “No matter what bans are passed, no one can cover up the injustices and unlawfulness in this country. We are right. No obstacle can stand against the truth. Our struggle in front of the courthouse is on the 585th day…”
