Call to demo against Turkey's use of chemical weapons

MERSIN - Representatives of political party represantatives from Mersin, who will participate in the "March of Humanity Against the Use of Chemical Weapons" to be held in Silopi on November 6, stated that the use of chemical weapons is not the problem for Kurds alone, and said, "It prevents peoples from coming together."
 
A march will be held in Silopi district of Şırnak and Istanbul Taksim with the slogan "March of Humanity Against the Use of Chemical Weapons" on November 6 against Turkey's use of chemical weapons against the Zap, Avaşin and Metina regions with the help of KDP. Peoples' Democratic Congress (HDK), Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) and United Struggle Forces (BMG), Democratic Society Congress (DTK), Free Women's Movement (Tevgera Jinên Azad-TJA), Democratic Regions Party (DBP) , Peoples' Democratic Party HDP Youth Assembly, Peace Mothers Assembly, Federation of Associations of Legal Solidarity with the Families of Detainees and Convicts (MED TUHAD-FED), Aid, Solidarity and Culture Association with Families Losing Their Relatives in the Cradle of Civilizations (MEBYA- DER), Navenda Çanda Mesopotamia (NÇM), Migration Platform and Mesopotamian Ecology Movement will lead the march.
 
Those who will participate in the march in Silopi from Mersin made a callfor participation.
 
'TURKEY MUST BE HELD TO ACCOUNT'
 
Stating that brutal methods have been used in the wars waged by nation states throughout history, HDK Mersin Provincial Assembly Mesut Aslan said that one of these methods is the use of chemical weapons. Noting that Turkey was not able to succeed in the war it waged in the Zap, Metina and Avaşin regions, Aslan said that's why it started to use chemical weapons, which is against international conventions to which it is a party, and continued: “We demand that Turkey is held to account"
 
'USE OF CHEMICAL WEAPONS IS A WAR CRIME'
 
Reminding the video released by the HPG, Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Mersin Provincial Co-Spokesperson Yeter Güzel said, "This is a crime, even war should have a law. Yes, there has been a war for 40 years. There is war all over the Middle East, but using this kind of chemicals is a war crime and a crime against humanity. International organizations should not remain silent about this."
 
Emphasizing that the use of chemical weapons is a war crime, HDP Mersin Youth Assembly Spokesperson Özkan Yalçın stated that the attacks were aimed at destroying the gains of the Kurds and said: “I call on all our people to participate in this march and fulfill their responsibilities in this regard. We will raise our demands at the point of revealing the allegations of the use of chemical weapons."
