ANKARA - Repeating his statements regarding Turkey's chemical weapons attacks, Turkey's Minister of Defense Hulusi Akar said, "There are no in our inventory."

 

Discussions on the Ministry of Defense's 2023 budget began in the Parliamentary Plan and Budget Committee. Speaking at the commission, Defense Minister Hulusi Akar claimed that the attacks against the Federated Kurdistan Region and Northern and Eastern Syria, since July 24, 2015, when the AKP returned to the concept of war, were in accordance with international law. Akar argued that despite the statements of Iraq and Syria, they "respected the territorial integrity and sovereignty rights" in the attacks, and said: "These activities are carried out with the utmost care and sensitivity to the protection of which no army has shown before.”

Despite the documents, findings and images, Akar once again denied that Turkey used chemical weapons in the attacks against the Zap, Metîna and Avaşîn regions, and claimed that the chemical weapons were not in the TAF's inventory.
