DİYARBAKIR - DFG and MKGP protested that the statement they wanted to make about ANHA Dêrik Correspondent Îsam Ebdullah, who lost his life in the airstrike on Kobanê, was prevented by the police and said, "The right to convey information to the public cannot be denied."

The statement Dicle Fırat Journalists' Association (DFG) and Mesopotamia Women Journalists' Platform (MKGP) wanted to make for Hawar News Agency (ANHA) Dêrik Correspondent Îsam Ebdullah, who lost his life in Turkey's airstrike on Kobanê, was blocked by the police on the grounds of "governor's ban".

While Sanat Street was besieged by a large number of police before the press release, journalists who followed the story were not allowed to get there. Journalists protested the ban, stating that they did not recognize the decision.

'WE PROTEST'

Protesting the blocking of the press release, DFG Co-Chair Dicle Müftüoğlu said, “We will not make the press release inside or outside, but we express once again that the free press will not be silent under any circumstances. Journalistic activities and the right of journalists to deliver news to the public cannot be prevented. We protest this decision."
