ANKARA - DTK Co-chair Berdan Öztürk and HDP MPs launched a demonstration in front of the Ministry of Justice against the isolation imposed upon PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
The Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) launched a new move against the aggravated isolation and inability to hear from PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan. HDP MPs marched to the Ministry of Justice, which remained silent despite the appeals against the lack of news. The delegation, includes the Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair Berdan Öztürk and HDP MPs Ömer Öcalan, Feleknas Uca, Dilan Dirayet Taşdemir, Şevin Coşkun, Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit, Sezai Temelli, Abdullah Koç, Nuran İmir, Hüseyin Kaçmaz, Mahmut Celadet Gaydalı and Erdal Aydemir, was blocked by the police near the Ministry of Justice.
The delegation, which carried banners with the words "Isolation is a crime against humanity", "The law should be enforced in Imrali" and "The lawyers should go to Imrali", made a statement about their demonstration.
CONCERNS ON HEALTH AND LIFE OF ÖCALAN
Stating that the isolation against PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who was brought to Imralı Island with an international conspiracy, is getting worse day by day, DTK Co-Chair Berdan Öztürk said: “There has been no news for almost two years. In the past days, the CPT delegation visited the island, but no public statement was made. Asrın Law Office's lawyers have made a statement that Mr. Öcalan did not meet with the CPT delegation. This has caused serious concerns in our people regarding the health and life of Öcalan. As you know, it is an approach that tramples national and international law with this kind of approach. We invite the democratic forces, especially our people, to act sensitively against the isolation that has reached a critical stage, and to show their reactions against the isolation with words and actions.
WE WILL FIND A SOLUTION
Stating that they will be in front of the Ministry of Justice until Abdullah Öcalan is allowed to meet with his lawyers, Öztürk said: “Isolation should not be used as a material for daily politics. The approach to Imrali is an approach to democracy, law and human dignity for us. These approaches will be effective in all the political decisions we will take from now on. We will not respect the statements, distractions, and manipulation statements made about the isolation against us until today, concrete steps must be taken. Demonstration will continue until results are obtained. Isolation is death, ignorance. We will either open a way together, or we will find a solution."
After the announcement, the wait of the MPs in front of the Ministry of Justice continues.
