ISTANBUL- TTB Central Council President Şebnem Korur Fincancı, who was sentenced to prison for "making propaganda for a terrorist organization", was not released, the hearing was postponed to 29 December.

Continuing her defense at the hearing, Fincancı said: "I was arrested even though I had no suspicion of escaping. There was a lynching attempt instead of a scientific discussion. The importance of the TTB and the profession of medicine. Forensic medicine is a practice of medicine that acts objectively and reveals the truth. We seek the truth."
'I OWE IT TO ALL THE PEOPLE'
Following the request, the hearing was adjourned at the request of the lawyers. Fincancı, who took the floor at the hearing, which started again after the break, said: "I would not make a defense on the merits. The prison conditions are difficult, but it is not a problem for me and that it is an invaluable “bounty” for human rights defenders. I try to follow, observe and write about the problems experienced by the prisoners in prisons and the problems of the administrative staff. I see it as a working area, so it's not a problem. The suspicion of escape was shown as the reason for the continuation of my detention. I was insulted by many people, including political party leaders, after the evaluations I made in the broadcast I attended, I will continue to work as a forensic specialist, wherever in the world it is. I will continue to teach and study. I owe it to all the peoples living on this land.”

Announcing its decision after the break, the court board decided to continue Fincancı's detention and adjourned the hearing to 29 December.
