ANKARA - HDP MPs stated that law is violated in Imrali, on the 11th day of the Justice Watch, and said, "Lift the isolation in Imrali, end the arbitrary practices and torture in prisons."
The Justice Watch, initiated by Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) MPs demanding that PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan meet with his lawyers, continued on its 11th day. HDP MPs Kemal Bülbül, Abdullah Koç, Erdal Aydemir, Hasan Özgüneş, Ayşe Sürücü, Nusrettin Maçin, Murat Sarısaç, Mahmut Toğrul, Fatma Kurtulan, İmam Taşçıer, Hüseyin Kaçmaz and Celadet Gaydalı made a statement at the Parliament.
Stating that the law is disregarded in İmralı, HDP Urfa MP Nusrettin Maçin said: "İmralı has turned into an island where law is massacred with the practices of the AKP- MHP government which disregards the rights of the prisoners inside. This concept of war polarises the society, increases the pressure on the peoples and silences the demands and needs of the public. And as the HDP MPs we are isolated here, just like the prisoners in İmralı."
WE WILL TAKE TO THE STREETS AGAINST ISOLATION
Stating that they will step up the struggle against isolation, Maçin said: "The government is trying to silence everyone who demands peace and gets involved in politics in that direction with its police force. We will step up the resistance against isolation everywhere and take to the streets, bring the issue to the parliament."
'END THE ISOLATION IN İMRALI'
Maçin who demanded that the isolation in İmralı must end, said: "End the isolation in imralı. End the arbitrary practices and torture in prisons. Release the sick prisoners. Keeping a person who can not meet their own basic needs in a prison is inhumane and it is a violation of human rights. The press and the public should know that we will send this fascist government in 2023. We will step up our struggle for a Turkey where people are free."
