URFA - Kars Bar Association presented the 2022 Justice Award to Emine Şennyaşar, who has been seeking justice in front of the Urfa Courthouse for 669 days.
The Justice Watch carried out by the Şenyaşar family has reached 669. The sit-in was launched on March 9, 2021 by Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons as a result of the attack carried out by AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives in the Suruç province of Urfa, on June 14, 2018. The family, who came to the front of the courthouse from their house in Pirsûs district, visited the President of the Kars Bar Association, Fettah Çapkurt, and the members of the Board of Directors. The Kars Bar Association was accompanied by Urfa Bar Association President Abdullah Öncel, Lawyers Association for Freedom (ÖHD) Urfa Branch Co-chair İbrahim Halil Öyke and many lawyers.
'WE WILL NOT LEAVE EMINE MOTHER ALONE'
Stating that with the decision taken by the Kars Bar Association on January 2, 2023, they deemed the Şenyaşar family worthy of the Justice Award of 2022, who have resisted with great determination for 669 days regardless of summer, winter, hot or cold, Urfa Bar Association President Abdullah Öncel said: "I would like to express my gratitude to Mother Emine, who has become the symbol of injustice in the country and is the role model of those who seek rights. All non-governmental organizations, political parties, and the Bar President and Management who came here from Kars to all non-governmental organizations who did not leave Emine alone for a moment. I would like to thank the members of the board of directors. We have never left Emine alone, we will never leave her alone."
The President of the Kars Bar Association and the members of the Board of Directors, who met with Şenyaşar family and lawyers for a while, then left.
