ISTANBUL - Academic Assoc. Dr. Bülent Yücel was suspended from the university following the cancellation of his exam.
It was learned that Anadolu University Faculty of Law lecturer Assoc. Dr. Bülent Yücel was suspended from the university for 3 months for asking questions to his students in the exam pointing to the closure case against the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) and the Presidential Government System.
In his exam on the General Principles of Constitutional Laws on January 9, 2023, Yücel asked his students a question, pointing to the Presidential Government System, Turkey's attacks against Northern and Eastern Syria, the migration in connection with the attack on Zap, Avaşîn and Metina, as well as the intense situation with Greece, the Cyprus problem, and the judicial pressure, the Censorship Law, the trustees appointed to the HDP municipalities and the closure case.
THE EXAM WAS CANCELLED
The university rectorate canceled the exam, citing the 53rd article of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). The Rectorate sent a private message to the students that the same exam will be held again on January 19th.
YÜCEL SUSPENDED FOR 3 MONTHS
Following the cancellation of the exam it was leaned that Yücel was suspended for 3 months.
