DİYARBAKIR - Mehmet Akar, who set his body on fire to protest the isolation imposed upon PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan in Sûr district and died in the hospital he was taken to, was laid to rest.
Mehmet Akar, who set his body on fire to protest the isolation against PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan in the historical Goat Bastion in Amed's Sur district, passed away at the Dicle University Medical Faculty Hospital. Akar, who lost his life, was laid to rest in Soğanlı village of Sûr district after the Forensic Medicine Institute (ATK) procedures.
Before the funeral, the village was besieged by the gendarmerie.
