NEWS CENTER - Federated Kurdistan Region Presidency made a call to political parties to ensure unity and to solve the problems with the Iraqi government.
The US delegation headed by the United States (USA) Middle East and North Africa Coordinator Brett McGurk visited the Federated Kurdistan Region and met with PUK and KDP officials. The Federal Kurdistan Region Presidency made a written statement regarding the meeting.
The statement of the Kurdistan Region Presidency included the following statements: “We reiterate our agreement on establishing a strong and productive bilateral relationship between Iraq and the Kurdistan Region on the basis of the strategic framework agreement with the American government. The Kurdistan Region is facing an uncertain situation and different problems. More than ever, we need the unity and solidarity of all parties, especially the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), which hold the future of the region in their hands.”
CALL FOR DIALOGUE
The Kurdistan Region Presidency called on all political parties as follows: “Leave all your conflicts aside and seek solutions through dialogue. The things that make us who we are are much greater than the things that separate us. In line with the interests of the people of the Kurdistan Region, we all need to act with great responsibility for the stability and future of the region, and for ensuring unity. We also support the ongoing process and progress in resolving the issues between the Kurdistan Region government and the Iraqi Federal government. Despite past difficulties, we believe we can resolve our crisis-causing problems with Prime Minister Mohammad Shia Sudani and his cabinet within the framework of the Iraqi constitution.”
