DİYARBAKIR - Lütfiye Kelekçiler, who is in Patnos Type L Closed Women's Prison, stated that they were subjected to ill-treatment and psychological pressure, and when they reacted, they were threatened with being transferred to another city.
Lütfiye Kelekçiler, who is imprisoned in Agirî Patnos Type L Closed Women's Prison, spoke about the oppression and violations of rights in the prison in her weekly phone call. Kelekçiler spoke to her friend Saadet Kurt on the phone and stated that they were subjected to ill-treatment and psychological pressure by the prison administration.
During the meeting, Kelekçiler said: “When we ask for medicine for ill prisoners, it arrives late and the patient's condition worsens until they arrive. When we want to make a petition due to prison conditions or any reason, they do not address us and keep a report about us. In the minutes, there are penalties such as wages, communication and letters. We do events among ourselves and sometimes we sing songs, of course, our songs are in Kurdish and they keep a record about us. The objections of the prisoners were tried to be suppressed with the threat of deportation. When we demand our rights and do not do what they say, they are exiled to Adana, Kayseri, Ankara and Tekirdağ, which are generally distant places. They say; 'Do not raise your voice,' or we will send you out of here.' When they make a call, disciplinary punishments are given with the so-called notes belonging to us, and with these penalties, they will hold our friends despite serving their sentence."
