DİYARBAKIR - Faike Aktaş, mother of Veysi Aktaş who is in heavy isolation with PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan in İmralı, said: "My son has been in prison for 28 years and I have not seen him for 8 years."
There has been no news for 22 months from PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, together with Ömer Hayri Konar, Hamili Yıldırım and Veysi Aktaş in Imralı Type F High Security Closed Prison. Applications made by the families to Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office for visit are either left unanswered or rejected on the grounds of "visit ban".
Faike Aktaş, mother of Veysi Ataş who is in isolation, said that she does not know whether her son, whom she has not seen for 8 years, is alive.
'WE DON'T KNOW IF MY SON IS DEAD OR ALIVE'
Faike Aktaş, who came together with the International Delegation Against Isolation of 36 people from 7 different European countries, said: “My son has been in prison for 28 years and I have not seen him for 8 years. We cannot even contact him by phone. He lost his father 2 months ago and was not allowed to attend his funeral. They don't give us any information about Veysi. He was calling before he was taken to Imrali Island, and I could go and see him every 2-3 months. I never saw him after he was referred to Imrali Island. At the moment, I have no information about my son, I am not informed. Although we made many applications to see Veysi, all of them were rejected. They are isolating my son and they say you won't be allowed to see him. We don't know if he's dead or alive."
Aktaş said: “I want to see my son and he should be released. We demand peace, we do not want war and conflict."
