URFA- The residents of Urfa, who were affected by the earthquake, said. "The bakeries in the city were closed and the municipalities did not fulfill their responsibilities. We had a problem with shelter despite the cold weather.

 

In Urfa, one of the cities damaged by the earthquake with the epicenter of Maraş Pazarcık, 95 people have been pulled out of the rubble so far without losing their lives. 195 people were also removed from the wounded. While the search works have ended outside of 2 buildings in the city center, debris removal works continue in the districts.

 

Bahcelievler Neighborhood, where old buildings are located in the Eyyubiye district of Urfa center, has been completely evacuated. The tents set up to accommodate earthquake victims were insufficient.

 

PUBLIC CONDEMNED THE MUNICIPALITY

 

Isa Çakar, who lost his uncle and his uncle's wife in the earthquake and his 2 cousins were under the rubble, condemned the municipality and said: "We did not see that the municipality helped people on the street. Tents are not enough. The car that has the opportunity stays. It's impossible to stay outside in this cold. There is an urgent need to distribute hot food to people."

 

Rabia Sütçü, who took shelter in a restaurant because their house was destroyed and they were left outside, said: "The municipality did not fulfill its responsibility from the first moment. We stayed at the restaurant for 2 days. We did not see anyone in authority. If the shopkeeper asked us to leave, where would we go?”
