GAZİANTEP - Speaking during the HDP delegation's visit to the wrecked Nurdağı, citizens said: "The search and rescue team did not arrive and their rescue efforts are insufficient."

 

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) the Council of Women Spokesperson Ayşe Acar Başaran, Gaziantep MP Mahmut Toğrul, Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) Co-Chairperson Beycan Taşkıran and Free Women's Movement (TJA) activists visited to the Nurdağı district and rural areas of Gaziantep, which was turned into a great wreck by the earthquake.

 

PEOPLE RENTED LADLES WITH THEIR OWN MEANS

 

The delegation first visited the districts of Keferdiz, Satırhöyük and Gedikli. Citizens, who were waiting around the rubble of almost all destroyed houses, said that no help came. Citizens in Keferdiz Neighborhood told the delegation their experiences. The citizens said: "We laid to rest our bodies with our own means, we also stated that we took the bodies out from under the rubble with the ladles we rented with our own means. We did not receive any help and search and rescue teams had not yet visited our neighborhoods. The team does not help us. We are thirsty, hungry, and cold. There are no authorities."
