NEWS CENTER - The Union of Turkish Bar Associations listed the persons and organizations responsible for the destruction of thousands of buildings in Maraş-centered earthquakes and filed a criminal complaint.
The Union of Turkish Bar Associations (TBB) filed a criminal complaint against the contractors of the buildings destroyed in the Maraş earthquakes and the administrative officers who approved their projects and failed to carry out the inspections. In the petition of the TBB, it was requested that those responsible to be determined be prosecuted in accordance with Article 81 of the Turkish Penal Code titled "Deliberate killing" and Article 83 titled "Deliberate killing through negligent behavior".
RESPONSIBLE PERSONS AND ORGANIZATIONS WERE LISTED
In the petition of the TBB, the responsible persons and organizations were listed as follows: "Contractors who construct the buildings; The technical responsible for the preparation of architectural, static and all kinds of plans, projects, drawings and calculations of the buildings and their implementation; technical officers and all kinds of building inspection officers and related persons working from the construction phase; Officials who issue occupancy permits and residence permits to buildings; officials who give them orders and instructions in this regard; Related municipality, ministry officials who do not fulfill their inspection duty. Those responsible for increasing losses as a result of the late, incomplete or faulty start of search and rescue efforts after the earthquake occurred.
A COMMISSION WILL BE ESTABLISHED
The following statements were included in the statement of the TBB: "To ensure that a healthy investigation process is carried out in cooperation with professional organizations with technical knowledge and a commission to be formed from our volunteers and expert colleagues in all procedures to be carried out, including the taking and examination of samples so that the evidence is not destroyed and blackened, and that all suspects are examined that efforts have been started for the determination of the law, and both the investigation and the prosecution process will be followed effectively in order to prevent impunity.
