HATAY - Muşlu Mehmet Aydın, who was caught in the earthquake with his family of 15 in Küçük Karaçay Neighborhood of Hatay's Samandağ district, said: "No one else helped us but the HDP. God bless the HDP, it helped us in whatever it could."
No one reached the Kurdish family of 15 people from Muş, who was caught in the earthquake in Küçük Karaçay District of Hatay's Samandağ district. The family, who was caught in the earthquake while living in a two-storey house with a barn on the ground floor, survived the earthquake with their own means. The family spent 3 days in the cemetery of the neighborhood after the earthquake. Later, they reached the tents and other necessities with his own means.
'DISCRIMINATION HAS BEEN MADE'
Stating that he made a living with animal husbandry, Mehmet Aydın said: "All family members were at home at the time of the earthquake. Part of our two-storey house was demolished to the back and the other to the front. All of the children came to the balcony and jumped onto the main road. There is discrimination. We survived by our own means. Nobody came here for help. Nobody came for the tent. The head person did not give it to us. They gave the tent to everyone, but not to us. There is discrimination. The head person of the Hancak neighborhood next door insulted me for using a diaper. All of our belongings are under dents, nobody came, the construction equipment did not come. We couldn't save our belongings."
'WE TOOK BODIES OUT OF RUBBLE OURSELVES'
Explaining that they ran to their relatives in the Harbiye district as they saved themselves, Aydın said: "Four of our relatives lost their lives on the Harbiye side. We took them out of rubble with our own efforts. We struggled from 04:00 to 14:00 during the day. My father and I took our bodies to Muş at around 18.00. We left the city in this misery and drove for 50 hours. There was no diesel, no one gave diesel. We were begging for oil."
'NO ONE BUT HDP CAME TO HELP US'
Aydın said: "No one but HDP came to help us. God bless the HDP, it helped us in whatever way it could. We were engaged in animal husbandry and that all their materials had collapsed due to the collapse of the barn. We live with more than 15 people, there is rain and mud. All the baits were buried under the dent. The animals were left without food for days. There has been no feed for how many days, everyone who brings it gives it to their relatives."
