GAZİANTEP- Yunus Kılınç, who could not buy a tent in Islahiye's Kerküt District despite a month, is determined not to leave his hometown.
Despite the fact that a month has passed since the earthquake in the İslahiye district of Dilok, where great destruction was experienced by the earthquakes, the grievances of the citizens were not resolved. There are citizens who have not yet bought a tent in the Kerküt (Bağaziçi) Neighborhood of İslahiye, where nearly 80 people lost their lives. While the citizens are trying to heal their wounds with the shelters they have created with their own means, bad weather conditions negatively affect their lives.
Yunus Kılınç (53), who lives in Kerküt Neighborhood and was not given a tent for a month, took shelter in the tent given to his neighbors with his family of 3 people. Stating that the other family has 4 members, Kılınç said: “What are we going to do in this situation? The head person comes and gives the things to those who work for him, he does not give them to those who do not like him. I asked for wood and a tent, and he said 'There isn't'. Then someone else goes and gives it when they want it.”
Noting that although there are deep cracks in his house, a "it can be stayed in house" report was given, Kılınç said: "The people who gave this report should stay in my house. I've been here for 43 years, I wouldn't go anywhere else and leave my hometown. Wherever I go, they will work for 3 months and say 'he is in an earthquake' and they fired me. No one should leave their country, people should come to their homeland. The municipality or anyone else did not help us.”
