HAKKARİ - Hakan Abi, who is imprisoned in Yozgat No. 1 Type T Prison, was released for the second time for 3 months on the grounds that he was not doing well.

The violations of rights experienced by the prisoners increased even more after the "Regulation on the Management of Penitentiary Institutions and the Execution of Penalties and Security Measures" came into force as of March 31, 2020. The Administration and Monitoring Board (İGK), which was formed in prisons one year after this regulation, continues to prevent the release of prisoners who have completed their executions.

The release of Hakan Abi, who was arrested in Edirne in 2017 and sentenced to 7 years and 5 months in prison for "being a member in a terrorist organization" and "border violation", was prevented for the second time in the lawsuit filed against him. Since Abi did not accept the "spying imposition" on December 31, 2022, his detention period was extended for another 3 months. Abi, who was supposed to be released by the Administration and Observation Board on March 31 after a period of 3 months, was extended for another 3 months on the grounds that he was not in good behavior.

THE DEMAND OF RELEASE

Stating that they do not accept the material, moral and psychological injustices and that their bodies no longer remove these unlawfulness, Abi said: "What is done is an unacceptable type of practice. Our only demand and request is the release of all prisoners, especially the ill ones, without any justification,  all political prisoners are already being held in prisons unjustly and unlawfully. As they are not guilty of any crime, they are still held in prison and their release is prevented. They did not steal, kill, or steal state money. They are now under arrest just because they are fighting in their own party. We do not accept this situation."
