DİYARBAKIR - Party members and citizens protesting the Green Left Party's public meeting in Erxanî, protesting that the police control the GBT and not allowing people under the age of 18, started a sit-in by closing the road to traffic.

The Greens and the Left Future Party (Green Left Party) wanted to hold a public meeting in the Erxenî (Ergani) district of Amed(Diyarbakır) with the participation of thousands of people. Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair Berdan Öztürk, Human and Freedom Party (PIA) Deputy Chairperson Ahmet Kaya, Green Left Party Amed MP candidate Halide Türkoğlu, Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) and Green Left Party executives and thousands of people attended the meeting held in the bus station area.

While the area where the meeting was to be held was surrounded by police barriers, the public was taken to the area through a General Information Scan (GBT). At the same time, people under the age of 18 are not allowed to enter the area. Condemning these practices, the party members canceled the meeting for those who were excluded from the checkpoint and wanted to march towards the election office in Erxenî center with the slogans "Repressions cannot intimidate us". However, when the police wanted to prevent the march, party members and citizens started a sit-in by closing the Amed-Erxenî road to traffic.

The sit-in continues.
