İSTANBUL - A "fake voter" record registered in the warehouse of a family apartment in Bağcılar was released. M.C., who applied to the Population Directorate to cancel the registration, warned the opposition.

In Turkey, on May 14, just days before the Presidential and General Elections, "fake voter" records began to appear. Fake voter records were found in the warehouse in the basement of a family apartment on 2004 street in the Fevzi Çakmak District of the Bağcılar district of Istanbul. The owner of the warehouse and living in the same apartment, M.C. When the citizen checked the voter information sheets sent to his address, he realized that fake voters were registered in the warehouse. Petitioning for registration cancellation, M.C. warned opposition parties of fake voter registration.

NOBODY KNOWS ABOUT THE FENUGREEK PAPER

Stating that the building was built in 1998 and that it is a family apartment, M.C. said: "Even a tenant has not been taken into the building until today. We used the basement of the building as a warehouse. Fevzi Çakmak neighborhood head person left fenugreek paper in our house 5-6 days ago. While I was buying our voting papers, I saw that there were two extra fenugreek papers. At first I thought it was wrong, but when I looked at the address, I saw that it was registered in the basement of our house. It was also seen as a dwelling, not an apartment. Then I went to the head person of the neighborhood and explained the situation. I asked the mayor if he knew. The head person said that he doesn't know and he is only responsible for distributing it. I also asked if there were other people who came in this way, and he said that another person had come and left a note.``

'WE SHOULD PROTECT OUR VOTES'

Adding that he was worried about the fact that he was not given any information about the people registered in the warehouse, M.C. said: “This is outright stealing votes because we do not know the fate of these people. No information was given. These may be the people we lost in the earthquake, or the people we lost in the pandemic. Voting for others is unfair. Again, in the previous elections, bombs were exploding, the votes were in garbage containers. Against these odds, if such things happen to us after the election, I wanted to make it official. My request from the opposition parties is to address this issue and to ensure ballot box security by detecting fake voters in other offices. I can't think of villages and rural areas if these things started to be done in the city. Everyone should take care of the ballot box in this election."

M.C. stated that he applied to the Bağcılar District Population Directorate with a petition for the deletion of fake voter records, and called on the public to be sensitive to this.
