MARDİN - Prisoner Fevzi Aktaş, who was released from Tekirdağ Type T Closed Prison after 30 years and 6 months, was greeted with applause in his hometown, Mardin.
Fevzi Aktaş, who was arrested in 1993 in Mardîn for his political activities and sentenced to life imprisonment by the Diyarbakır State Security Court (DGM), was released. Despite his 30-year arrestee, Aktaş was released from Tekirdağ Type T Closed Prison, where he was held the previous day. Aktaş, who was welcomed by his relatives, then went to Istanbul by road, and today he came to his hometown Merdîn by plane.
Hundreds of people gathered in front of Mardin Airport upon the call of MED TUHAD-FED and greeted Aktaş with bells and applause.
Aktaş then moved to Şemrex (Mazidağı) district where his family lived.
