ISTANBUL - 5 people who were battered and taken into custody after the police seized the loudspeaker while they were performing a halay dance accompanied by Kurdish songs, were referred to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace for their arrest.
The young people opposed the police, who seized the loudspeaker of the young people who were performing halay dance accompanied by Kurdish music on the beach of Moda, Kadıköy. Thereupon, the police opened fire in the air and detained 5 young people. While there was no information about the fate of the detained young people, images of young people who were detained by many accounts and laid face down in reverse handcuffs were shared on social media late at night. In the footage, it was seen that the mehter anthem was played from the police car and the young people were forced to listen to it. 5 young people, who were learned to be held in the Iskele Police Station in Kadıköy, were transferred to the Anatolian Courthouse in Kartal in order to take their statements at the prosecutor's office in the morning.

It was learned that the young people were subjected to torture in detention, and there were traces of torture on their back and arms.

Kadir Gülşen, Barış Gülşen, Seyithan Gülşen, İdris Akpınar and Cahit Kurt, who testified at the prosecutor's office, are accused of "resistance to the police". After the prosecution statements, 5 young people were sent to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace with a request for arrest.
