ANKARA - Turkey's foreign trade deficit increased by 32.9 percent in the first four months of the year, reaching 43 billion 444 million dollars.
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced foreign trade data for April. According to the data, Turkey's exports in April decreased by 17.1 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and amounted to 19 billion 331 million dollars; imports decreased by 4.8 percent and amounted to 28 billion 69 million dollars. In the January-April period, the foreign trade deficit increased by 32.9 percent and rose from 32 billion 684 million dollars to 43 billion 444 million dollars.
